The Story
Curiosity, innovation and respect for people and raw materials have always characterized us.
SA Möbler was already founded in 1896 by Emanuel Andersson here in Tibro. With a professional pride and care for both the people and the products, he laid the foundation for our journey - a journey where responsibility for both the family and the raw material has been central. Emanuel used only the materials needed and created long-lasting furniture with precision and quality.
His sense of responsibility has shaped our choices and our attitude over the years. Today, when we make furniture for dynamic workplaces, circularity and flexibility are as obvious to us as they were in Emanuel's time.
On the following pages, you can take part in the history of our heritage, our traditions and our commitment as a Swedish furniture manufacturer. We create furniture for dynamic work environments that are today spread all over the world.
Somehow we think Emanuel and his family would have been proud of how his vision lives on in our business
Founded in 1896 in Tibro, Sweden
SA Möbler was founded in Tibro in 1896 by Emanuel Andersson. We are still in the same place.
Since 1982, SA Möbler has been owned by Kjell Hammar.
When Kjell took over SA Möbler, he changed the focus from home furnishings to office furniture.
Always curious
In 1982, the company was taken over by Kjell Hammar, who with his background in both technology and entrepreneurship saw new opportunities for the business. Kjell chose to shift the focus from furniture for the home to office furniture and thus created a unique niche for SA Möbler.
As early as 1978, driven by his curiosity and interest in innovation, Kjell built his first adjustable desk in his garage, with the realization of the importance of being able to change the working position when working on a computer. It was a bold move at a time when computers had barely hit the market, but Kjell saw the potential and stuck to his vision.
When SA Möbler later developed its range for modern workplaces, the electric height-adjustable tables became one of our main innovations and a symbol of our commitment to working environment and ergonomics.
Kjell's curiosity about the future has characterized SA Möbler's corporate culture, where employees are inspired to think creatively and dare to try new solutions.
This open-minded working climate has become part of our identity and helps us to constantly develop to meet future demands for furniture for dynamic and sustainable workplaces.
Environment and responsibility
Responsibility for environmentally safe production is part of our heritage.
We manufacture our office furniture with minimal environmental impact and work actively with sustainability at all levels. Our furniture is developed and produced with a circular perspective.

Did you know? Through our new heating system, SA Möbler has reduced our CO₂ footprint by 120 tons per year, with the goal of reducing a further 60 tons in 2024.
Tibro is our home
Tibro is our home, but it is also Sweden's furniture center with a long tradition and history.
Tibro is also a logistical hub for furniture import and export.
Tibro has a long history of entrepreneurship in various fields.
Tibro is located between lakes Vänern and Vättern, near Tiveden National Park.
Did you know? That Lake Vättern is so clean and clear that you could see crayfish on the bottom of the lake at a depth of 6 meters. Vättern is the drinking water reserve for almost 500,000 people.
